Preservation Director, Sarah Kautz, will discuss the life of author Jupiter Hammon who lived as an enslaved person at Lloyd Manor and whose work was the first to be published by an African American born in North America. FREE.
Join us for the first public screening of theater artist Malik Work’s short film followed by a discussion with the artist and his collaborators on the project. The event will be moderated by Douglas Jones, Associate Professor of English and Theater Studies at Duke University.
