Check our events page for upcoming community programs before the exhibition arrives and throughout its run.
As part of our special Voices and Votes programming, join us for a conversation exploring the enduring themes of liberty, freedom, and the ongoing struggle for equality. Facilitated by Joseph Murphy from Humanities New York, this conversation will be built around one of Jupiter Hammon’s writings and is open to everyone interested in exploring the challenges and triumphs of American democracy since its inception.
A special program of the Voices and Votes exhibition, this lecture, presented by historian David Waldstriecher, explores the poetry and public voices of two published Black poets of 18th-century America. Attend in-person at the Cold Spring Harbor Library or via Zoom! FREE (registration required).
