PRESERVATION UPDATE!
The Southampton Town Board voted unanimously on September 8th to approve the Graves Protection Act and the Shinnecock Hills Building Moratorium. Thanks to months of advocacy work by members of the Shinnecock Indian Nation and their supporters, a big step has been taken towards protecting some of Long Island’s most vulnerable historic and ancestral Native American ancient burial grounds.
