William “Big Bill the Tory” Jayne returns for Culper Spy Day!
Did you know that New York City and Long Island had the highest concentration of Loyalists during the American Revolution? Why did so many Long Islanders remain loyal to the King of England? What happened to them after the war? Stop by Sherwood-Jayne Farm to meet Setauket Loyalist William Jayne (aka “Big Bill the Tory”), and hear his side of the story! The property opens at 10:00 AM. The first guided tour begins at 10:30 AM. Tours continue every half hour with the final tour at 3:00 PM. Free self-guided grounds tours all day
