As Preservation Long Island celebrates its 75th year, we remain committed to celebrating and preserving Long Island’s diverse cultural and architectural heritage through advocacy, education, and stewardship of historic sites and collections.
There are many ways to “Give” on Giving Tuesday that are just a click away!
Contribute to Our 75 for 75th Anniversary Campaign
Your contribution will support special projects including essential capital improvements to the Joseph Lloyd Manor (pictured above in 1910 and in the present day) that will advance two related important goals for the organization: the long-term preservation of the circa 1767 house and the implementation of the Jupiter Hammon Project, a multi-year interpretive initiative that explores the site’s legacy as the place where the first published African American poet, Jupiter Hammon (1711–c.1806), wrote his most significant works as one of 44 known individuals who were enslaved at the site.
