The natural world was a powerful source of inspiration in both the life and work of artist F. Edwin Church. He was a founding member of the North Shore Wildlife Sanctuary and in 1950s deeded a significant part of his property to establish the Shu Swamp Preserve. In honor of Church’s legacy as a naturalist, join us for a walk through the Preserve guided by Dan Kriesberg, Program Director for NSWS. The nature walk will be an opportunity to share in the beauty that inspired F. Edwin Church to preserve the streams, ponds, and forests of Shu Swamp. Taking place during peak foliage season on Long Island, this program will awaken our senses to appreciate the wonder of nature as an inspiration in our own creative lives. The walk will be approximately one mile.
