Join Curatorial Fellow, Peter Fedoryk, for a guided tour of Looking for Lange, a pop-up exhibition featuring original watercolors, photographs, and drawings by Edward Lange (1846–1912), a German immigrant artist who created detailed views of Long Island homesteads, businesses, and communities throughout the 1870s and 1880s. Learn about Lange’s artistic background, choices in media, and evolution as a commercial artist working on Long Island during a time of rapid societal and infrastructural transformation. This installation is part of Preservation Long Island’s Art of Edward Lange Project, a multi-year endeavor to research and document the artist’s life and work. Explore The Art of Edward Lange interactive website to learn more and to view nearly 100 works by Lange.

The Art of Edward Lange Project is generously funded by the Gerry Charitable Trust
