Port Jefferson Village historian, Chris Ryon, talks about history’s relationship to the digital world. The technology available in smartphones can produce 3D scans of objects and room-sized spaces. Three-dimensional images can be used to create virtual environments while 3D prints and facsimiles carved with CNC Routers can be handled by the public. Chris Ryon will also show how a small flatbed scanner can be used to scan large fragile maps and charts.
