Join us for an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the John & Alice Coltrane Home, where the legendary jazz saxophonist lived with his family from 1964 until his passing in 1967. Guided by Huntington Town Historian Robert Hughes and Coltrane Home Founder Steve Fulgoni, this special tour will explore the home’s restoration progress and plans for a museum celebrating the Coltranes’ life and legacy. Preservation Long Island and the Caribbean American Poetry Association are thrilled to invite students in grades 6-12 across Long Island to share original poems as part of our 2025 Juneteenth Poetry Celebration in honor of Jupiter Hammon (1711-c. 1806), recognized as the first published Black American poet. Poems must be submitted in advance.
