After being nominated by the New York State Parks & Historic Sites in March 2023, we are delighted to report that York Hall was officially listed in the National Register of Historic Places on October 23, 2023. The listing appears on the National Parks Service Weekly List published on October 27th.
Grandly situated at the entrance of Nissequogue River State Park, York Hall is one of many significant historic and cultural resources located on the former campus of the Kings Park State Hospital/Psychiatric Center.
Preservation Long Island believes the York Hall National Register listing is a meaningful start to a process that should recognize the significance of the entire campus of the former hospital.
